This race was expected as among the more competitive editions of this unique seven-furlong competition for fillies and mares. Yet, vet checks led to several scratches earlier today, such as top contenders Sweet Azteca and Tamara.

As a result, the field looks significantly reduced, but trainer Bob Baffert stands a strong chance to claim his 20th Breeders’ Cup win. His runners include Richi and Splendora, whereas Hope Road, winner of the Grade One Ballerina Stakes, is considered the primary threat.
