Detention documents in Essex County, New Jersey, show that Brown was freed on Tuesday morning for his relocation to the state of Florida. Brown, a highly popular athletes in the NFL, had forgone extradition to Florida from New Jersey, where he was held after being taken into custody in the city of Dubai.

Brown’s counsel, Mark Eiglarsh, mentioned in an message that he has previously filed a formal innocent response to the attempted murder charge. Brown could be in a Miami court as early as Wednesday early for a bond session, Eiglarsh said.

As per his arrest warrant, Brown is charged of seizing a pistol from a protection employee after a star match event in May and discharging two shots at a person he had fought with earlier. The reported victim, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, stated to authorities that a bullet scraped his nape.

Eiglarsh stated that Brown was simply protecting himself from Nantambu.

“The actions he was obliged to take were purely in self-protection against the alleged person’s hostile actions. Brown was attacked that night and responded within his legal right to protect himself,” Eiglarsh stated.

Brown was not immediately apprehended because initially officers did not recognize Nantambu as a victim. It not until subsequently in May that Nantambu delivered a detailed statement about the event to authorities and identified Brown as the shooter, the affidavit states.

From his social media posts, Brown had been living in Dubai for several months. In a message after the confrontation, Brown stated he was safeguarding himself because he was “assaulted by several individuals who attempted to steal my jewelry and inflict bodily harm to me.”
